Location: 6300 Granbury Cut Off St. in Fort Worth, off Granbury Road next to Oakmont Elementary School.
What makes it noteworthy: With not-so-high twisty slides and ramps for easy access, Patricia LeBlanc Park, home to one of Fort Worth’s two accessible playgrounds, allows kids of all ages and abilities to play independently and creatively. Kids scramble (or roll) from climbing walls and tire swings to the interactive sensory stations that play water sounds and animal calls. Unusual features like musical instruments and supportive swings with seatbelts make this sprawling, multi-structure playground popular even on weekdays.
Extras: The dedicated rest area in the parking lot includes two clean port-a-potties and a water fountain. Take a seat at one of two covered pavilions to watch the kiddos play ball on the half court or scrimmage on the sports field.
Safety: This playground received an A* on the Playground Safety Report Card. While the play areas are not distinguished by age, some low equipment and areas with turf mean less risk for the younger set. Just watch out for protruding bolts on the ramps (and the occasional anthill).
