Fort Wildflower playground is the newest addition to Heritage Park in Flower Mound. The 12,500-square-foot community-built playground offers play features adapted from the drawings of local elementary students and was built with the help of numerous volunteers. The nature-themed park is outfitted with biking trails, an amphitheater, restrooms and a pedestrian bridge. The expansive playground also offers separate play areas for kids big and small and numerous swings. Fort Wildflower was designed to be all-inclusive and provides features accessible for children of all abilities such as a musical section and an oversized tic-tac-toe board. The playground scored an A* on the Safety Report Card for an overall safe design. Parents might have difficulty keeping an eye on kids as they explore the crawl spaces of the large playground, however. Next up for Heritage Park are plans to add a dog park, botanical gardens and a disc golf park. 800 Spinks Rd.
