Firefighters Park in Sachse

Location: 2841 Fifth Street in Sachse, at the intersection of Fifth and Sachse streets.

What makes it noteworthy: Kids will love pretending they’re firefighters at Firefighters Park. It’s built with a fire station in mind; everything is designed in bright red and yellow, including the benches and trashcans.

Extras: The park has two separate play areas for older and younger kids, one with a ladder and three slides, and the other painted like a firetruck with a steering wheel inside, and a small slide for little ones. Both of the play structures are completely covered to block kids from the sun. There are also four swings, including two baby swings, and a covered pavilion.

Safety: Firefighters Park received an A* on the Playground Safety Report Card. The playground is very safe for all ages; however, the parking lot is very close to the play area, so parents should make sure their kids do not run out in the parking lot unsupervised.

Plus
+ Firetruck design
+ Separate play areas for different age groups
+ Play areas completely covered

Minus
– No restrooms
– Parking lot close to playground

Overall grade: 4/5 stars
