Fairview Park in Denton

Now that spring is here, it’s a great time to step out of the comforts of your home and take the family to the park for some plain old exercise. Denton’s Fairview Park is an option. The playscape features two covered slides, three side-by-side slides, a place to climb, rings to swing on, and a raised, covered tunnel for kids to crawl through. There is also a small swing set (two toddler and two child swings). The playground includes a separate area for smaller kids to ride on a duck and horse that are mounted to the ground. However, with that said, parents should take caution if they choose to visit. There is some graffiti on a neighboring fence and underneath one of the slides. There was also a small ditch area with a raised silver drainage tunnel, which can be dangerous for smaller kids (raising safety concerns for parents). Also, there were no bathrooms or drinking fountains located on the playground.

This review was distributed to the City of Denton Parks and Recreation for further review and/or action.
