On Thursday, June 23, Hawaiian Falls Mansfield and Roanoke host the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson (WLSL) to raise awareness of water safety. Guests can enter the park an hour before the park opens to the general public to learn about basic water safety and swimming skills. Lifeguards will be teaching kids of all ages. The event is free to the public. Preregistration is required online.

Since its inception, more than 332,000 children and adults have participated in the WLSL lessons. Research shows the risk of drowning can be reduced by 88% if children participate in formal swimming lessons between ages 1–4.

The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson brings together tens of thousands of individuals from hundreds of communities around the globe who all participate in the same lesson on June 23rd to raise awareness about drowning and the fact that swimming is a vital life-saving skill that every child should learn.

Participants are welcome to stay after the free lesson at Hawaiian Falls with a discounted admission ticket for the day, available at the gate before the park opens to the public at 10:30am. Everyone who attends the World’s Largest Swim Lesson is eligible to get in for the Kids under 48” tall price of $25.99.

Regular admission pass is $35.99 per person and guests under 48” tall are $25.99. Kids 2 and under are always free. Special event information, park hours, directions and ticket information is available at
