Description

The Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival is a three-day celebration of eclectic arts and live music on five stages. It draws thousands of people annually, is held the third weekend in May, and produced by the City of Richardson Parks and Recreation Department. 2025 headliners include Young the Giant and Cold War Kids.

For over 30 years attendees have enjoyed a variety of musical acts on multiple stages, kids activities, artistic performances on Performance Row, regional cuisine and shopping with local artisan in the Marketplace. Additionally, the festival offers many programs that recognize and support talented musicians and artists such as Battle of the Bands, Budding Talent Vocal Competition, Student Art Contest and the award-winning Al Johnson Performing Songwriter Contest.  Not to mentioned the Art Guitar Auction, featuring acoustic or electric guitars transformed by artists into a creative piece of work, available for purchase.

Los Trompos
Presented by the Eisemann Center, Los Trompos (“Spinning Tops” in Spanish) draws its inspiration from a toy that has been popular with children around the world since the dawn of time. This large-scale, interactive artistic installation engages visitors in a way that is both meaningful and playful.

Los Trompos features a set of larger-than-life, three-dimensional spinning tops in a variety of colors and shapes. The colorful surfaces of each top are created in part by fabric woven in a traditional Mexican style. The fabric is stretched over the modules to seat several people at once.

Functioning as both artwork and rotating platform, each sculpture acts as a gathering place for relaxation, social interaction and entertainment. By working together to create momentum, visitors can spin the tops on their bases. Through interaction and collaboration, Los Trompos comes to life and gives new meaning to the art of play.

Experience Los Trompos at Wildflower! each day in front of the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts.
