Additional Information

Join Challenge Air for Kids and Friends as the nonprofit continues to uplift children with special needs through this at-home Virtual Reality Fly Day Event on Saturday, June 12.

This event will be limited to the first 400 new participants. Open to children and youth with special needs between the ages of 7 and 21. Register online. Open registration starts May 10.

Each registered co-pilot will receive a Challenge Air Virtual Reality Kit (including VR goggles, Challenge Air T-Shirt, Challenge Air Wings, and a certificate of completion). Limited to 2 kits per household. Join this virtual adventure as you fly up in the sky from the safety of your home.

How it works: Using 360-degree cameras mounted to the inside and outside of an aircraft, Pilot Glenn will take each co-pilot through the skies of Dallas, TX just as if they were seated next to the pilot. With the use of a virtual reality headset, the co-pilot will have the ability to place a smartphone in the headset and look through to experience the flight.

The video is recorded to react to the viewer’s movement. If the child looks up, the video looks up. If the child looks out the window, the video looks out the window.

This event is offered at absolutely no cost to young co-pilots through the generosity of donors. Consider making a voluntary $20 donation so Challenge Air can continue to do great things in the lives of these children.
