Description
Bring your little ones to this free series, Storytime with the Arlington Public Library, held at the new Arlington Museum of Art. Storytime is a celebration of books, art, movement, imagination, and smiles. Storytime begins with a book read theatrically by a children’s librarian from the Arlington Public Library. Sometimes they’ll even treat you to a puppet show. Then you and your child will participate in an art activity related to the story.
Storytime with Arlington Public Library is a great way for children to enjoy reading with you and other children their age. It also teaches children how to transform their listening skills into tactile skills by creating an original piece of art.
Held every other Wednesday. Look here for the exact dates and themes as they are announced throughout the year. Although the event is free, space is limited and registration is required. No walk-ins, please. When you pre-register for the event, you will receive an email notification. Please save that email so you can show it to the parking attendant when you arrive. Children must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian at all times.
The Arlington Museum of Art is located inside the Arlington Expo Center. Storytime events are held either in the HELP Center Gallery, Traditional Gallery, or Boardroom. When you arrive at the museum, please check in at the front desk.
While you're there, check out the costumes exhibitions:
Game of Thrones: The Exhibition, on view through April 5, 2026
Dressed for the Drawing Room: Fashion in Jane Austen’s World, on view January 9–March 22, 2026
