The State Fair of Texas returns in 2022 with livestock shows, carnival and midway fun, live concerts, exhibits and car shows, college football games inside the Cotton Bowl, and the fair's famous fried foods. Children's Aquarium reopening
Look for the giant inflatable octopus sitting out front and head inside to check to the new animals and new exhibits now on view at the original Children's Aquarium at Fair Park, now operated by zoOceanarium Group.
Not only is the Fair fun for all members of the family, it’s educational too! Even the youngest fairgoer will learn about the importance of agriculture here in Texas. On any given day, there are tons of family-friendly activities and exhibits included in the price of admission.
The State Fair of Texas Rodeo takes place each weekend of the Fair during the evening at the historic Fair Park Coliseum, home of the 1959 Original National Finals Rodeo. Each rodeo is free with your admission ticket to the Fair. From high energy bull riding to wild cow milking, you won’t want to miss the Rodeo on your visit to the Fair this year.
From the makers of ¡Fiestas de Marionetas! you won’t want to miss the all-new Country Roundup on the re-designed Dr Pepper Midway Stage. Created exclusively for the State Fair of Texas, Country Roundup features animatronic and manual puppetry, and a vintage carousel-style stage to captivate its audience. Bring the whole family! This attraction is sure to entertain fairgoers of all ages.
Free Live Music Concert Series
The concert series on the Chevrolet Main Stage is one of the best values of the State Fair of Texas because it is totally free with the price of admission. Listen to Jack Ingram, Clay Walker, Sugar Ray, Grand Funk Railroad, comedian Bill Engvall and more.
Choose the day you attend in advance with the one-day admission ticket to the State Fair of Texas. Prices for daily admission tickets vary by day of week. Ticket prices start at $15 for adult tickets and $10 for child and senior tickets. Daily tickets can be purchased at the gate or online. Look online for all the discount options and more useful details like Thrifty Thursdays for all the food options (fried and otherwise).
Gates open Sundays–Thursdays 10am–9pm and Fridays–Saturdays 10am–10pm. State Fair of Texas Midway and Fair Park Museum hours vary.
