Description
Commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks at this memorial event headlined by Lee Greenwood, best known for his signature anthem, "God Bless The U.S.A." The three-decade chart topper received wide airplay following the September 11th attacks, and has single has sold well over a million copies since its mid-1980s debut.
The Greenwood concert is a ticketed event with general and reserved seating available (no lawn chairs or coolers).
The 9/11 memorial concert will kick off at 6pm with a multi-media, multi-presenter patriotic program paying tribute to first responders, service personnel, and healthcare heroes. Country/retro-rocker Deana Carter ("Strawberry Wine") will open the concert at 7pm; Lee Greenwood takes the stage at 8:30pm. Early ticket purchase/early arrival is suggested.
Anyone who wants to sponsor free concert tickets for first responders, etc., is encouraged to buy tickets at levittpavilionarlington.org, then contact info@levittarlington.org and indicate where you'd like the tickets to go. (For example: "Please donate six tickets to the Arlington Fire Department.")
The Labor Day weekend shows are part of Levitt's free music series, which continues through the second weekend of October. Lawn chairs/coolers are welcome. Early arrival is suggested for the Brave Combo show.
