6:30pm Friday, August 17 through 8am Saturday, August 18
Bring the family and enjoy the Perot Museum of Nature and Science at an evening that’s designed just for families of kids with special needs. You’ll get access to all the permanent exhibit halls, including the Children’s Museum, and be able to take part in sensory activities, watch a 3D film, bust a move at a Dino Dance Party, and more.
This sleepover will be a bit different from others in some important ways, to make the event wonderful for all in attendance. Service animals and food from home are also welcome. Families are welcome to bring their own food as long as it does not need to be refrigerated or reheated. Breakfast will be served in the morning.
It is open to children ages 5–20 with sensory needs and their families, and calm rooms will be available throughout the museum. You do not have to spend the night and families can exit the building at any time. A guard will be at the front doors until 11pm to let service dogs out, and families can exit any time without needing to alert sleepover staff up to 11pm. Most of the activities are over at 11pm. Lights out at midnight.
$30 per adult chaperone; $45 per youth. One adult chaperone is required for every two children, though exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Call 214/756-5763 to speak with the Perot's Family Adventures department. Go online or call to register.
