Shreveport-Bossier Mardi Gras Pop-Up Party

The Shreveport-Bossier Tourist Bureau returns to Plano to host the Mardi Gras Pop-Up Party at event1013 in historic downtown Plano. This free, all-ages party will include live music by popular Shreveport party band, Musikology, free samples of authentic Creole cuisine prepared by Chef Chapeaux Chapman of Orlandeaux’s Café in Shreveport, king cake samples from Shreveport-Bossier bakeries, a cash bar, door prizes, and more.

The purpose of the Shreveport-Bossier Mardi Gras Pop-Up Party is to give Texas neighbors a fun, free taste of Carnival season in Northwest Louisiana. This year, Shreveport-Bossier’s biggest parade weekends are Feb 14–16 and Feb 21–23, but Mardi Gras parties, parades, and events are already underway.

Shreveport-Bossier offers a variety of experiences ranging from smaller neighborhood parades to the enormous Krewe of Centaur and Krewe of Gemini parades, which are attended by more than half a million parade-goers each year.

Additionally, guest chef, Damien Chapman, will be serving his signature gumbo. Chef Damien is a fifth-generation restauranteur and owner of Shreveport's historic creole eatery, Orlandeaux’s Café.
