Description

On Sunday, July 3, The Sound at Cypress Waters hosts a new Sensory Sensitive Fourth of July Celebration family experience to be held at the Rogers-O’Brien Amphitheater. This new type of Independence Day celebration provides a fun and safe alternative for:
-Individuals who experience all spectrums of autism or a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech, and nonverbal communication
-Individuals who suffer from an aversion to loud noises, including Veterans
-Families who own pets that are typically affected by loud noises

The Sensory Sensitive Celebration begins at 6pm and will include:
-Instead of a traditional fireworks, there will be a colorful, patriotic laser light show at dark to celebrate our nation’s independence
-Service dogs from Canine Companions
-A concert by Windy City, a Chicago tribute band
-Animal education from Creature Teacher
-Plenty of space for picnics on the lawn, face painting, a balloon artist, and more
