Step back in time when you visit the historic Minor-Porter log house, which was built around 1869, at the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area. Visitors of all ages are welcome to arrive at any time during the open house. You’ll get a feel for pioneer life as you tour the log home, smoke house, dugout, and homestead grounds.
Knowledgeable docents will add to your experience. You may even be able to try your hand at a craft from the 1870s. Open houses are on the third Saturday of each month except July and August. Registration is not required.
Free with entrance to LLELA: $5 per vehicle, cash or check only. Season passes are available.
