Penguin Days at Dallas Zoo

Once again, the Dallas Zoo is dropping its general admission prices as the winter temperatures set in – admission is only $10 per person during Penguin Days Presented by Nexpoint. The annual discounted admission prices apply to daytime visits to the Zoo, January 1 through February 29. And guests get an extra discounted day this year because it’s a leap year!

The Dallas Zoo’s commitment to accessibility expands well beyond Penguin Days in January and February. The Zoo offers free or discounted admission through various programs throughout the year, meaning just under 50% of the Zoo’s annual guests to receive some sort of discount on daily admission.

These discounted days in January and February tend to coincide with colder weather, so guests are encouraged to watch the forecast, bundle up, and pick a day that suits their preference for colder temps! Penguin Days visitors can warm up in indoor spaces throughout the Zoo, including the Herpetarium, Prime Meridian Café, Jake L. Hamon Gorilla Conservation Research Station, Simmons Safari Base Camp, or Hippo Hut, which is brought to you by Nexpoint.

Speaking of tolerance for cold, while quite a few of the Zoo’s animals enjoy these cooler temps, others will choose to spend time in their indoor habitats when the “feels like” temperature hits about 40 degrees. It’s good to keep an eye on the temperature gauge and know that animal visibility might be impacted on some of the colder days.
