Description

Earth Day stresses the importance of air quality, clean water, the food we eat and our quality of life. On Sunday, April 16, join Oak Cliff Earth Day, a grassroots green festival, comprised of local volunteers who wanted to educate the community about protecting our planet. The theme for the 2023 Earth Day will promote the message: “Environmental Justice for All.”

Oak Cliff Earth Day began in 2007. In 2018, the OCED committee of volunteers partnered with greensourcedfw.org, a local environmental news site, and the Memnosyne Institute, parent nonprofit support as a sponsor of this event.

Joining us will be speakers from EarthX, to share their upcoming event at the State Fair grounds. Local politicos representing Oak Cliff will share the great neighborhood support for this event and the Oak Cliff community.

Exciting entertainment begins with:
Noon: Sangeet Millennium, South Asian Music of the World
And incorporates students from two Fine Art Academies in Dallas ISD, includes
1pm: Greiner Academy award-winning Folkloric Dance Company
2:15pm: Booker T. Washington featuring MIDI: A Fusion Jazz Experiment
4pm: Bandan Koro African Dance and Drum Ensemble

Food trucks will be available for a great variety of food choices.

Free parking is limited due to ongoing construction near Lake Cliff Park. Festival attendees may park in the Methodist Hospital Parking, Schenkel Tower, garage accessible from Beckley Ave.
