Description
The North Texas State Fair Association, a volunteer-supported nonprofit that preserves and promotes western heritage and values, hosts the 97th annual fair and rodeo. This 10-day festival offers activities for all ages including horse & livestock shows, a carnival rides and games, live concerts, cook-offs, and plenty of fair foods.
See the full event schedule here. Contests include the Rodeo Queens pageant open to children 15 months to 18 years, the youth art and photography contest, and baking contests.

- Toyota of Denton's Swifty Swine will now be located in the Peterbilt Kid Zone.
- In the Peterbilt Kid Zone: bumper boats and the Agri-Golf: Making Ag Education a Hole In One for Fairs.
- Wildlife Wendy in the First United Bank Fun Zone.
- Bill Utter Ford's No Limits Livestock Show will now take place the second Sunday of the fair, August 24 at 2pm.
- The livestock department has added a poultry show to the schedule, also happening Sunday, August 24.
- There is now another night of Rhino Steel Building Systems' mutton bustin prelims on Monday, August 18.
