The North Texas State Fair Association, a volunteer-supported nonprofit that preserves and promotes western heritage and values, hosts the 94th annual fair and rodeo, offering activities for all ages including nine nights of live concerts, horse & livestock shows, mutton bustin', a carnival, cook-offs, food and games.
Don't miss the Swifty Swine pig races and a Wild West stunt show called the Tumbleweed Crossing. Contests include the Rodeo Queens pageant open to children 15 months to 18 years, the youth art and photography contest, and a baking contest. Look online for the full concert lineup.
Register online to compete on Aug 23–27 at 6pm. Open to kids 3–7 years old as of Sept 1. Entry fee is $40 per night. Limit of 1 entry per night. Register online by Aug 21.
Note that for safety reasons the No Limits Livestock Show for special needs is on hiatus this year.
