Meals on Wheels Kids Camp

Visiting Nurse Association launches its first-ever Meals on Wheels Kids Camp this summer. The camp was designed to create a meaningful experience for 8 to 11-year-olds by next teaching them:
-The reality of senior hunger in our community
-The importance of good nutrition
-How to combat social isolation
-The gift of volunteerism

Campers will tour the Meals on Wheels kitchen, learn about senior hunger, deliver Meals on Wheels, participate in craft and assembly projects, and enjoy a sack lunch provided by parents and snacks provided by VNA. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt.
The camp is held at the Visiting Nurse Association’s Haggerty Kitchen on Mockingbird Lane in Dallas. During the day, campers will be transported to deliver Meals on Wheels.

Each camp is one day and will be hosted on the following days:
-Tuesday, June 11 from 9:30am–2:30pm
-Tuesday, June 18 from 9:30am–2:30pm
-Tuesday, June 25 from 9:30am–2:30pm
(no day camp on July 2)
-Tuesday, July 9 from 9:30am–2:30pm

The registration fee for each camp and camper is $50. A child may register for more than one date; however, the curriculum will be the same each day. Registration is not a tax-deductible gift, but additional donations can be made.
