Additional Information

Celebrate the Lunar New Year with a workshop at Oak Cliff Cultural Center for the whole family! Participants will make a paper lantern in celebration of the Lunar New Year and learn about the significance of the lanterns and the traditions that accompany the celebration.

The Lunar New Year is primarily celebrated in East Asia and it begins with the first new moon of the Lunar calendar and ends on the first full moon, 15 days later. The celebration’s dates vary year by year since it is based on the cycles of the moon.

This workshop is free an open to the public. Attendees will be admitted on a first-come, first-serves basis until the workshop reaches capacity. This workshop is open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
