Description
On Saturday, January 10, cast a line and catch some trout with State Park rangers! Head to the Kid Fishpond (see the map here) to partake in this friendly competition while celebrating the 30th anniversary of Ray Roberts Lake State Park - Johnson Branch.
All ages are welcome. Kids 16 years and younger are welcome to join the competition and win prizes. Every hour they'll award prizes for Biggest Fish Caught and Most Fish Caught, as well as grand prizes for the day for Biggest Fish Caught and Most Fish Caught.
Be sure to bring water, sunscreen, closed-toed shoes, weather-appropriate clothes, fishing equipment. (Loaner tackle will be limited.) There will be tables and booths set up around the pond and drinks (hot cocoa, hot coffee, and water) provided by the park.
Johnson Branch Unit is located on FM 3002, seven miles east of I-35. Take Exit 483 at FM 3002/Lone Oak Road to access the park.
