From the founding of the NAACP to the famous friendship between Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to Jewish participation in the Freedom Rides, American Jews were actively involved in the Civil Rights Movement.

How did Jews and African Americans cooperate in the fight for civil rights? What misconceptions about their relationships persist to this day? Join the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum for a panel discussion about African Americans and Jews in the Civil Right Movement. This program is presented in conjunction with the current special exhibition, The Fight for Civil Rights in the South.
