Description

On Tuesday, Nov. 17 from noon–1pm, March of Dimes hosts “It Starts With Mom Live Texas: Closing the Health Equity Gap,” to shed light on topics that moms and moms-to-be find the most pressing today.

Each and every day in the U.S., two women die due to complications from pregnancy and childbirth, and two babies die every hour. Black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy related causes than White women. Black babies are twice as likely to die before their first birthday. And it’s not their fault.

Learn the facts about the health disparities facing Black mothers and babies and what it will take to change the statistics. Hear honest conversations with experts on how women can be their own best advocate in healthcare.

Join to hear from, Stacey D. Stewart, President and CEO of March of Dimes; Stephanie Childs, Vice President of Global Government Relations at Kimberly-Clark Corporation; Regina Jones, Chief Legal Officer at Baker Hughes; Sky Houston, on-air personality for Radio One.

Join this virtual conference streamed on the March of Dimes Texas Facebook page. Can’t join this one? Check out this five-part virtual event series, featuring bold, authentic and diverse conversations about the issues that matter the most to moms and moms-to-be, but often go unspoken.
