Description
Join the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum for this virtual book discussion of The Boy on the Wooden Box, the only memoir published by a former Schindler’s list child, capturing the innocence of a small boy who goes through the unthinkable.
Author Leon Leyson was only 10 years old when the Nazis invaded Poland and his family was forced to relocate to the Krakow ghetto. With incredible luck, perseverance, and grit, Leyson was able to survive the sadism of the Nazis. Ultimately, it was the generosity and cunning of one man, Oskar Schindler, who saved Leon Leyson’s life and the lives of his mother, father, and two of his four siblings.
The conversation will take place on the online platform Zoom. A link to join will be sent to registered guests via email one hour before the start of the program. Space is limited. Register online here. One ticket per device used. Recommended for students in sixth through 12th grade and adults.
