Additional Information

Description

At this safely-distanced event, Heart of Gold guests will enjoy an evening at Coyote Drive-In theater where the Arts Council of Fort Worth will debut a mini-documentary celebrating outstanding philanthropists, arts administrators, and creative leaders who are helping the community rise above the challenges of this year through the arts.

There will also be entertainment from local groups like Amphibian Stage’s Tad-Poles, Lone Star Film Festival, Mariachi Centenario, singer-songwriter Ginny Mac, and more performers and featured artists will be added to the program.

The Arts Council of Fort Worth is adapting the Heart of Gold Awards to highlight another reason to celebrate: the arts are not only remaining resilient in this difficult year, but the arts industry is working harder than ever to keep our community safe and connected during the pandemic.

Theater costume shops are producing personal protective equipment for retirement communities, visual artists are inspiring neighborhoods with murals, musicians are breaking new grounds with digital performances. This year’s Heart of Gold will celebrate all this and more.

Every dollar raised helps support the Arts Council of Fort Worth as they continue to provide much needed grants to the arts community, engage artists and neighborhoods through public art projects, present educational digital and in-person programming, and manage ten galleries and two theatres through the Fort Worth Community Arts Center.

Doors open at 7pm, pre-show entertainment begins at 7:30pm and the event begins at 8pm. Register online at artsfortworth.org/heart, via email at heartofgold@artscouncilfw.org or by calling Director of Advancement Wesley Gentle at 817/298-3029.
