Clark Gardens in Weatherford offers its its second annual Grow at Clark Gardens, a month-long series of nature-based activities designed to enrich lives through art, wellness and gardening. Check the gardens' website for a complete schedule. Highlights include:
Radial Weaving
Saturday, March 4, 1–4pm
Radial Weaving is a fun and easy way to introduce weaving to children and adults. Various materials can be used for the looms, from paper plates to Styrofoam cups to cardboard paper. Weaving materials include yarns, foldable paper, old t-shirts, and ribbons. This is a hands-on class, with each participant working on their piece of art.
$20, includes all supplies; reservations highly recommended
Making a Felt Book
Sunday, March 5, 1–4pm
Bookmaking is a fun and creative exercise. This class looks at making a felt book with simple materials and tools. In this 3-hour hands-on session, attendees will participate in creating a needle felt book. This class is easy enough for elementary school-aged children and can be highly sophisticated for a fiber artist.

Bird Watching Walk
Tuesday, March 14, 10–11am
Lake Mineral Wells State Park's very own David Owen will be guiding a limited number of people through a colorful walk through the gardens enjoying bird watching. There is so much to learn and see during this fun activity for all ages. Attendee spots will be on a first-come-first-serve basis on the day of, maxing out at 20 participants. Arrive early to secure your spot. Wear enclosed, comfortable walking shoes, and bring binoculars if you have them. David will be providing some binoculars.
Children's Cooking Class
Wednesday, March 15, 10:30am
Chef Magen from the MaggPie Inn will be teaching a cooking class for children 7–12 years old. Advanced tickets required.
St. Patrick's Day Art Station and Story Time
Friday, March 17
Enjoy bubble painting, veggie printing, marble art, and Q-tip bluebonnets (all supplies provided), hosted by the Boyce Ditto Public Library.
Grow Festival
Saturday, March 25, 8am–5pm
Clark Gardens offers live music, a bounce house, petting zoo, pictures with the Easter bunny, educational talks and stations, a vendor market, and more as part of its Grow at Clark Gardens festival.
