Is your family fans of The Amazing Race? Modeled after the Emmy-winning TV show, the Great Amazing Race, hosted this spring in Little Elm and Fort Worth, pits two-person teams (ages 3 and up; competitions are among peers) against each other to compete in eight outdoor challenges in a 1-mile obstacle course. (Unfortunately, winners here don’t take home a $1 million prize like on the show.)
Teams can be kid/kid, adult/child or adult/adult; challenges vary by location but consist of team-building physical exercises. Insider tip: Clue cards need to be read so littles who haven’t mastered the skill yet should be paired with an adult.
Race day schedule:
7:30am site opens for volunteers
9:15am check-in begins (Pavilion #1, Corner of W. 7th St)
9:55am course and rules review
10am start (waves every 10 min - kids teams, then adult teams)
11:30am finish (medals & awards)
Noon site closes
Registration from $49.99 for a two-person team. Prices may increase closer to the event.

The Great Amazing Race series partners with the Max Cure Foundation, a national childhood cancer foundation that funds childhood cancer research, provides financial support to families in need while their child is in treatment, and advocates for legislative and regulatory change seeking to benefit children with cancer.
Join the fight and make a difference in the lives of children battling cancer by donating 2 pairs of used sneakers or running shoes at the race. In return, you will receive a 2 minute time-eraser token for the race.
