Description

Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) presents the world premiere of Giselle by TBT’s Artistic Director Tim O’Keefe, who intricately builds upon the foundational choreography of Jean Coralli, Jules Perrot, and Marius Petipa to present his own brilliant interpretation of this iconic masterpiece.

Set to the hauntingly beautiful composition of Adolphe Adam, this production tells the tragic tale of love, betrayal, and redemption.

Seduced and forsaken, the beautiful but bereft Giselle succumbs to madness and a broken heart. Yet even in death, love endures. Her love for her faithless suitor saves him from the ravages of avenging ghostly maidens.

One of the most iconic classical ballets of all time, Giselle tells the haunting story of a young woman betrayed by love and redeemed by forgiveness. Will she save the life of her faithless suitor, or will the ghostly Willis have their revenge?

Giselle is approximately 2 hours long, including one intermission. Experience this brilliant interpretation of an iconic masterpiece at:
May 2–4
Bass Performance Hall, 525 Commerce St., Fort Worth

May 16–18
Winspear Opera House, 2403 Flora St., Dallas

In Dallas, all performances of Giselle will feature live orchestration from The Dallas Opera Orchestra, conducted by Michael Moricz. This was made possible thanks to funding from the Texas Commission on the Arts.
