Description

Saturday, September 21, 10am–3pm

The North Texas Chapter of Women in Aviation International hosts its fifth annual Girls in Aviation Day, a free program for girls ages 8 to 18 designed to introduce them to the possibilities available in a career in aviation at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas.

More than 2,000 girls along with their chaperones are expected to attend. New for this year: Tickets are available for 10am–1pm and from noon–3pm to allow for more students to attend.

Limited quantities of Girls in Aviation Day backpacks, Aviation for Girls Magazines and other materials will be provided on a first come-first serve basis. If you attended the event last year, we encourage you to wear your Girls in Aviation Day T-shirt. If you do not have a Girls in Aviation Day T-shirt, shirts will be available for a $20 suggested donation.

Attendees will have the opportunity to talk to women in various fields of aviation and aerospace, including pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers, airport managers, business owners, and more. Exciting hands-on activities, such as flight simulators, build-a-helicopter, aviation phonetics, a scavenger hunt through the Frontiers of Flight museum and more will also be available.

Space is limited for Career Panels, keynote speaker and flight simulator slots. NEW this year: Tickets for the two career panels and keynote speakers are free and can be preordered through eventbrite. Tickets for the flight simulators are also free but can only be picked up on-site on a first come-first serve basis. Be sure to be with us for the group photo at noon.

All children must be accompanied by an adult for their duration of their stay at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. Please register all children and adults in your party with tickets via EventBrite. Please bring a digital copy of all EventBrite tickets with you.

The event is free. If you cannot attend, please return your EventBrite tickets to allow other patrons to attend this great event. Parking will be limited so please plan to carpool where possible.

Check back online (waintx.org) for updates on speakers, programs, career panels & important information regarding this event.
