Friday, November 16, 6pm–midnight

The Dallas Arts District lights up again with three simultaneous events from 6pm–midnight. Third Friday fun includes a screening of Hidden Figures while picnicking in the Nasher Sculpture Center garden and a look at the new installation, Nuvole, at recently renovated Crow Museum of Asian Art. In anticipation of the Ida O’Keeffe exhibit opening Nov. 18, the Dallas Museum of Art’s Late Night explores early 19th-century American art and music.

Late Night at the Dallas Museum of Art:
Explore American art and music from the early 20th century as we celebrate the artwork of Ida O’Keeffe. The exhibition Ida O’Keeffe: Escaping Georgia’s Shadow will only be open to DMA members. Become a Member during Late Night and see it before it opens to the public on Sunday, November 18.
Program highlights: Family Story Time in the Galleries at 7:30pm at the level four American Galleries. Row your boat, steer your ship, or swim on over to a special family story time inspired by the lighthouse paintings of Ida O’Keeffe and Edward Hopper. You’ll read of cats and dogs and kids who’ve lived in these beacons of light, then create mini-lighthouses to light your way home.
$10 admission; free for 11 and younger.

After Dark at the Crow Museum of Asian Art:
Spend some time under the new installation, Nuvole, part of the exhibition Jacob Hashimoto: Clouds and Chaos. Literally meaning clouds, Nuvole is comprised of woodblock-printed kite-like discs hung overhead like a looming cloud. Throughout your evening, enjoy Japanese kite making, meditations in the clouds, and printmaking and demonstrations.
Free admission.

'Til Midnight at the Nasher:
Listen to a live outdoor concert by Chulita Vinyl Club followed by a screening of Hidden Figures (2016) in the Nasher Garden. Guests have the opportunity to participate to view the permanent collection and special exhibitions.
Presenting sponsor Central Market/H-E-B will offer special reserve-ahead picnic dining. Guests may pre-reserve picnic dining by calling the Central Market Lovers Lane catering desk at 214.361.5577 by 4 pm on the Wednesday before the event.
Free admission.
