Description
Keller Parks and Recreation partners with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to sponsor two free fishing events annually. In January the pond at Bear Creek Park will be stocked with rainbow trout; in June, the pond behind Town Hall will be stocked with freshwater catfish. Stocking dates are subject to change because of weather and fish availability.
This free event is for anglers 16 years and younger. Bring your fishing gear, and try to be the best angler as we stock our pond. Make sure you bring an adult buddy with you. There will be sheets and rulers on-site for you to record your catches and then turn in at the end of the event.
Keller will be modifying this event to protect the staff and public that will be in attendance. To help ensure physical distancing, no gear — fishing rods, bait, or assistance — will be available for the public at this event. Please make sure you bring your own supplies. (You can use items in your kitchen as bait as all that are listed have been used successfully: mini marshmallows, corn, and even skittles).
