Description

2021 marks the 20th anniversary of the devastating September 11 attacks.  The U.S. lost so much and shed tears for so many, yet that day showed the courage and selflessness of first responders, police, firefighters and ordinary Americans.

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) joins the nation in reflecting on that day two decades ago, September 11, 2001, that changed our lives forever, remembering those we lost and celebrating the resiliency of our country and the American spirit. Join this one-hour concert of stirring American music as the Meyerson illuminates for the Tribute of Lights. Note that the concert includes no intermission.

All tickets are $10. Proceeds from the event will benefit Carry the Load, a Dallas-based non-profit organization that provides an active way to connect Americans to the sacrifices made daily by our military, veterans, first responders and their families.

Leonard Slatkin conducts the DSO in performances of:
SMITH Star Spangled Banner
COPLAND Fanfare for the Common Man
BARBER Adagio for Strings
IVES The Unanswered Question
WILLIAMS Lincoln: With Malice Toward None
HAILSTORK American Fanfare
McTEE Adagio for Strings
COPLAND Shaker Variations and Finale from Appalachian Spring
WILLIAMS Liberty Fanfare
