On July 5, 2020, Beau Chandler and Mark “Major” Jiminez went to the Dallas County Records Building with the goal of either obtaining a marriage license or getting arrested for trying. After being refused a license because they were a same sex couple, they sat on the floor of the office, handcuffed themselves together, and were arrested.
