Saturday, October 13, noon–6pm festival, 10:30am dash, 2pm Zombie Walk

To celebrate 10 years in the Allen community, The Village at Allen presents the Down Home Festival, a free, family-friendly event in the shopping center’s outdoor pavilion called The Grove. The Down Home Festival will include site-wide dining and shopping deals, live music, a local vendor market, kids crafts and games, and contests provided by Village at Allen retailers and restaurants.

Featured main stage entertainment includes 2018 American Idol finalist and Collin County native, Ron Bultongez, and Good N Gone, a Texas country band comprised of local police and firefighters. Local partners like Allen Economic Development, the Allen Americans, Cabela’s, and many more will also host festival activities.

Kicking off the day at 10:30am at Kelly’s at The Village, will be The Grand Dash Urban Adventure Race hosted by Allen-Fairview Chamber of Commerce. Think The Amazing Race, but with an urban feel. Your team will decode clues, solve puzzles, and follow trails that will lead you around The Village at Allen and straight to the finish line. Once you’ve finished the race, kick back at the after party and awards presentation and watch live music on the mainstage at The Grove.

During the festival, attendees can participate in Experian’s second annual Zombie Walk, benefitting Scottish Rite for Children Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center in Frisco. The Experian Zombie Walk will include a thrilling one-mile journey with the walking dead, with toys and candy for the kids, a brain-eating contest with Bliss Cupcakes & Confections, and a costume contest where winners win a supernatural surprise.

Free festival admission. Free Zombie Walk but donations of new toys encouraged for Scottish Rite for Children.
