Description

The Hughes Family Tribute Center will present its 11th annual Día de los Muertos Celebración over two weeks, Saturday, October 18 through Sunday, November 2, 2025 in Crown Hill Memorial Park and Mausoleum. The historic mausoleum and cemetery, located in the Bachman Lake area, is traditionally visited by families on Día de los Muertos. The Día de los Muertos Celebración builds on this tradition.

The celebración is free and open to the public and held at Crown Hill Memorial Park and Mausoleum featuring the historic Art Deco style mausoleum, recognized as a City of Dallas historic landmark.

The celebración on Saturday, November 2, will showcase the musical talents of Carolina Imperial and Mariachi Michoacan, the art installation Alebrijes: Spirit Animals by artist Ricardo Alarcón; dance performances by Grupo Pakal, specializing in Mayan dance presentations; folklorico, live mariachi music; family art activities, children’s entertainment; and food and beverage and crafts concessions.

The event will also feature a Catrina Contest with cash prizes: $500 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd place, and $100 for 3rd place.

Alebrijes: Spirit Animals Art Exhibition

At Hughes Family Tribute Center, the art exhibition Alebrijes: Spirit Animals by Ricardo Alarcón, opens Saturday, October 18 and runs through Sunday, November 2, 2025.

For the exhibit grand opening on October 18, the featured entertainer is Carolina Imperial who recently won New Artist of the Year at the Catholic Music Awards held in Rome. She has also been selected to compete in Mexico Canta, an initiative of the Government of Mexico, through the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Mexican Music Council. The evening will also highlight the design skills of Alfa de las Catrinas by Anel Anaya.
