Description
Join Cara Mía Theatre Co. and the League of United Latin-American Citizens (LULAC) in protest with art and culture for Day of the Dead with Mojigangas (oversized skeleton puppets), Aztec and Mexican folklorico dances, a community altar to honor loved ones and political theatre.
Participants are invited to decorate cars with Day of the Dead art and write protest messages on windows. To join the Day of the Dead Caravan for Victim of COVID, email info@caramiatheatre.org. If marching, protestors must wear masks, socially distance 6 feet apart from others and avoid the crowding.
Held on Sunday, November 1. Caravan begins at 2pm at Guadalupe Cathedral, followed by a rally at 3pm at Dallas City Hall Plaza. Look online for the route map.

-Large Skeleton puppets by Giovanni Valderas and Carlos Castillo from Zero Productions;
-Skeleton puppets by Frida Espinosa-Müller, Jose Armendariz, Paloma Salas, Linda Lopez, Carla Ceballo;
-Altar designed by Frida Espinosa-Müller;
-Dance groups Mitotiliztli Yaoyollohtli (Heart of the Warrior) and Allegre Ballet Folklorico;
-Political theatre by Virginia Grise, Cara Mía Theatre’s Playwright In Residence.
