Description
Dash for Beads: Saturday, February 22, 8am–2pm
Dash for the Beads is an annual 5K and 10K certified race and festival that coincides with Mardi Gras. This is the 11th year of the event where over 2000 people from all over Dallas come to celebrate Mardi Gras by running, walking, wearing costumes, eating some good food and having one or two adult beverages.
The non-profit organization donates all net proceeds to local area schools to help promote healthy eating, physical activity and arts programs for grade school children. Visit dashforthebeads.org to learn more about this Oak Cliff event.
Parade & Block Party: Sunday, February 23, 4pm
The Mardi Gras Oak Cliff parade is the largest and most diverse event held in Oak Cliff. From schools and churches to service organizations and neighborhoods, on over to brass bands and New Orleans flare, a representation from every facet of Oak Cliff and New Orleans are welcome and included in the Mardi Gras Oak Cliff Parade!
