Join the second annual Family Fun Fair for the Dallas ISD Regional Day School for the Deaf, created for the 700-plus students served in Dallas ISD with hearing impairments, as well as their families. With the help of sponsors, free food, free games and free vendors that cater to the deaf and hard of hearing community are provided. Approximately 200 people attended last year.
The school students range in age from birth to age 21. Most of them wear hearing aids or cochlear implants. Some students attend specialized campuses where they communicate with sign language or total communication, while other students attend their neighborhood schools where they use oral language. The event gives these students and their families the chance to meet and network with others that also have a hearing loss.
Free.
