Presented by Crest Auto Group, Dallas CASA Parade of Playhouses at NorthPark Center is July 15–31. The exhibit showcases 13 custom created, children’s playhouses that are free to see. For this fun-filled community event, generous architects, builders, corporations and individuals design, build and donate extraordinary children’s playhouses to raise funds for Dallas CASA.
Playhouse designs for 2022 include a lighthouse, windmill, a Mars spaceship, a Dallas Mavs basketball court and a host of imaginative play spaces. (See previous designs here.) There is also a playhouse designed with the Highland Park High School MAPS students inspired by the historic Williams House in University Park. KDC Real Estate Development & Investments is grand marshal of the event.
For a chance to win one of these fantastic playhouses, raffle tickets are sold during the 17 day event, for $5 each or five for $20 at dallascasa.org. All proceeds from raffle ticket sales and sponsorships benefit the children served by Dallas CASA.
Monday through Saturday: 10am–8pm
Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) trains and supervises community volunteers who advocate for the best interests of children who have been removed from unsafe homes. Supported by professional staff, volunteers gather information and make recommendations to help judges decide the services each child needs to heal from trauma and the best outcome for a safe and permanent home.
For many foster children, a CASA volunteer is the only consistent, caring adult during a frightening, uncertain time. Now in its 42nd year, Dallas CASA serves more children than any of the more than 900 CASA programs nationwide. In 2021, 1,539 Dallas CASA volunteers were assigned to advocate for 3,113 children in protective care. CASA depends on the community’s generosity and commitment to make sure every child in need has a CASA volunteer advocate. To learn more, visit dallascasa.org.
