Description

Stockyards Heritage Development Co. announces the inaugural Cowgirl Gathering and the biggest free country music event in North Texas, presented by the Texas Country Music Association, coming to the Fort Worth Stockyards this weekend.

The Cowgirl Gathering will highlight cowgirls’ skills in breakaway roping, team roping, and barrel racing, while also showcasing exhilarating and engaging female speakers from all walks of life who embody the spirit of the American Cowgirl. The Cowgirl Gathering breakaway roping is poised to be one of the highest paying breakaway ropings in the country.

General admission tickets to attend the Cowgirl Gathering are $15 for adults (13+), $15 for kids (12 and younger), and $20 for a VIP or RBOX Reserved ticket. All tickets can be purchased at the Coliseum Box Office or online here.

Cowgirl Essence Exchange

Besides the roping challenges, the Cowgirl Gathering will also host their two-day Cowgirl Essence Exchange at the Cowboy Channel Studio, located across from the Cowtown Coliseum, beginning Saturday, November 14. The Essence Exchange will feature female speakers and performers from across the western industry including the Kimes Ranch team, Lindy Burch, Dena Kirkpatrick, Billie Bray, Jessica Haas, and plenty more. Day two will include discussions with LeAnn Hart, Tracy Sheffield, Amy C. Witt, Donene Taylor, and more. Tickets at cowgirlgathering.com/essence-exchange.

The Texas Country Music Association kicks off the weekend on Friday, November 13 from 3–8pm. Fans can stop by the Texas Country Music Unplugged session for free and hear live music from musicians including April N. Smith, Justin Meyers, Jason Gibson, and many more.

On Saturday, November 14 from 11am–6pm, the Texas Country Music Showdown will welcome guests to watch 10 Texas country bands right on Exchange Avenue for free. The bands will be competing to be the Texas Country Music Showdown 2020 Grand Champions. Winner will be announced at the 2020 Texas Country Music Awards on November 15 at Billy Bob's Texas. Grand Champion band will also receive a full prize package provided by the Fort Worth Stockyards Heritage Development Co., who also provides the judges for this event.

On Sunday, November 15 at noon visitors can enjoy the free Christian Country Concert, starring Curtis Grimes and Casting Out. After the concert, the 2020 Texas Country Music Awards will open its doors at 2pm to the public at Stockyards concert hall, Billy Bob’s Texas, for a music-filled night hosted by TCMA spokesperson and Texas country artist, Brandon Rhyder, who will also perform that night. Headliner Neal McCoy will take the stage with special live performances including Zane Williams & The Wild Blue, Curtis Grimes, Holly Tucker, Scotty Alexander, Will Carter, Saints Eleven, Aaron Copeland, Jade Marie Patek, Hayden Haddock, Jon Stork, and George Navarro.
