There is an art to having fun at Cottonwood Art Festival, a juried show that takes place on the first full weekend in May and the first full weekend in October each year. Join the 53rd semi-annual event features more than 200 artists from around the world, live bands on two stages, and the ArtStop Children's Area, and has been a part of Richardson life for 51 years.

ArtStop, Cottonwood’s interactive children’s area, offers pint-size Picassos to create their own masterpieces at six interactive stations, from hat-making to painting on a canvas. Be prepared to laugh and have fun, as ArtStop is a memorable experience for kids of all ages.

Since Cottonwood Art Festival is located in a public park, well-behaved dogs on leashes accompanied by a human are welcome. Custom dog bandanas that say, "I [Heart] Art" are available to buy for $5 each. The merchandise store also has T-shirts, koozies, caps and more.
