Take a trip back to an 1870s Christmas and celebrate the old-fashioned way. Enjoy a tour of the historic Minor-Porter Log Cabin, make a corn husk doll or an ornament to take home to your own Christmas tree, create a hand-dipped candle, listen to carols and sip hot cider by the campfire.
Visitors are welcome to arrive at any time during the open hours and join in at their own pace. Registration is not required. Free with entry to LLELA: $5 per vehicle, cash or check only. Season passes are available.
The Minor-Porter Log Cabin is located on the Cottonwood Trail, about a 0.3 mile walk from the parking lot at the Cicada Pavilion. A golf cart or hay ride will be available to assist visitors with mobility limitations. A shuttle will run through all of LLELA's parking lots to help you get to the log house if you must park a distance away.
Programs may be affected by weather. Contact the Lewisville Parks and Leisure Services office with questions Monday-Friday morning at 972/219-3550. Contact the LLELA gatehouse Friday afternoon-Sunday at 469/635-5483.
