Description

Dallas-based nonprofit Challenge Air provides a once-in-a-lifetime experience to individuals with special needs between the ages of 7-21 through the gift of co-piloting an aircraft. This experience is offered at no cost to the kids and their families.

Each co-pilot can bring an accompanying parent or guardian and one sibling or friend—for a total of four: three guests plus the pilot. Each flyer must not exceed 250 pounds. Each pilot must have a private pilot license, 500 total logged flying hours, current medical, and proof of insurance.

Sign up today online if you have a child with special needs, or would like to contribute as a pilot, volunteer, sponsor, or agency.

Challenge Air was created to change the perception of children with special needs through the gift flight. By eliminating the belief that they are limited, the children can grow to their full potential. They are given the opportunity to find courage within themselves and build in areas where they lack self-esteem. Challenge Air for Kids & Friends provides an unforgettable growing experience that opens the door to possibilities while allowing the children to see if they can fly a plane they can do anything
