Description
Memorial Day is dedicated to honor and remember the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Although it is observed on the last Monday of May, Carry The Load's Memorial May campaign takes place all month long to raise awareness and provide active ways to connect Americans to the sacrifices made by our military, veterans, first responders and their families.
The Dallas Memorial March, hosted in Carry The Load’s hometown, is the organization's flagship event and the culmination of the National Relay. The march is a two-day Memorial Day weekend event honoring service members and their families for the sacrifices they make. Register here to join the march.
Opening ceremony;
At 3:45pm on Sunday, May 28, the National Relay team hands the American Flag off to the Dallas Memorial March. Chris Lawrence WFAA News Anchor will be the Master of Ceremony at this kick-off to a 20-hour march to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We will step off for the start of the Dallas Memorial March with a 2-mile loop on the Dallas city streets and continue to march in their honor for 20 hours up and down the Katy Trail.

About Carry The Load
Carry The Load (based in Dallas) started in 2011 as a grassroots effort by two Veteran U.S. Navy SEALs who felt like the nation had forgotten the meaning of Memorial Day. Now, Carry The Load has turned into a worldwide movement to honor our nation’s heroes and make Memorial Day matter again.
Carry The Load inspires people to actively participate in its Memorial May events to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day. Upon registering, you can participate by hosting a Carry It Anywhere experience, organizing a youth Carry The Flag activity, walking in the National Relay, attending a City Rally, fundraising for our nation’s heroes, and taking part virtually throughout the 32-day event.
