Breakthrough T1D North Texas Community Summit

Breakthrough T1D hosts the North Texas Community Summit on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 9am–2pm at the Irving Convention Center. This free, annual gathering brings together children, adults, caregivers, and those newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes for a meaningful day of education, empowerment, and community connection.

The keynote speaker for the summit is Dr. Anastasia Albanese-O’Neill, AVP of community screening and clinical trial education at Breakthrough T1D and a nationally recognized diabetes researcher and advocate. Drawing from her clinical expertise and personal experience as a parent of a child with type 1 diabetes, Dr. Albanese-O’Neill will share insights on early detection, research progress, and participation in clinical trials.

Attendees will also enjoy breakout sessions, opportunities to explore the latest advancements in T1D technology and treatment, and time to connect with others who truly understand life with type 1 diabetes.
