Description

Ballet Concerto, under the artistic direction of Margo Dean and Webster Dean, presents A Holiday Special on Wednesday, December 7.

The performance will begin with a seasonal ballet called Winterwonderland with choreography by Margo Dean set to familiar seasonal tunes.

Also included will be A Flamenco Hannukah, a spirited Flamenco piece celebrating the Jewish holiday tradition with choreography by Elise Lavallee.

Featured will be Memories of Frosty, a ballet based on the story of Frosty the Snowman. The performance will close with O Holy Night a re-enactment of the Nativity. It will feature Mary and Joseph, the Angel Gabrielle, and shepherds as the story is told through song and dance.

About Ballet Concerto

Ballet Concerto, under the leadership of Margo Dean, presents the art of ballet and other forms of dance to audiences of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds. As a leading dance company, Ballet Concerto, founded in 1969, is dedicated to outreach initiatives for school-age children to provide exposure and opportunities to study ballet. The ballet’s F.I.N.D. program (Find and Inspire New Dancers) hosts lecture and demonstration programs in select elementary school in the Fort Worth Independent School District.

Ballet Concerto founded an annual outdoor Summer Dance Concert 1983 in Fort Worth's cultural district to extend its dance education outreach initiatives to families who might not otherwise experience the beauty and excitement of a live performance, now being presented at The Shops at Clearfork. Ballet Concerto trains local talented young dancers and features local professionals as well as international guest artists. Concert highlight works of international choreographers as well as emerging choreographers
