Description

Surround yourself in the world of Medieval and Renaissance knights this winter at the Arlington Museum of Art (AMA). Direct from the renowned Museo Stibbert in Florence, Italy, A Knight’s Tale features 130 rare objects including full suits of armor, mounted equestrian figures, helmets, swords and shields.

The feature exhibit explores historical and functional contexts of the arms and armor while also highlighting their undeniable beauty and craftsmanship. The lasting legacy of the iconic knight was clearly forged by the master metalworkers and artisans of the time.

As a contemporary complement to A Knight’s Tale, the AMA also presents LJ Eidolon: Dreams, Allegory, and Gestalt, which runs from October 22, 2022 – February 12, 2023 in the AMA Rooftop Gallery. Charleston, South Carolina-based LJ Eidolon has a love for context, color, art history, and the surreal. With a background of 20 years in oil painting, collage, and assemblage, the evolution of her body of work is the continuation of these techniques in a digital realm. Read a Q-and-A with Eidolon here.
