Description
A Junkyard Christmas—hosted by Junk Guys founder Ricardo Hernandez—is an kid-friendly, immersive Christmas experience. Several kids activities (most of them indoors and out of the cold) include train rides, writing letters to Santa, painting ornaments, photos with Santa and with The Grinch—all included with admission.
Children can also write letters to Santa and self-address the envelope before securely placing it into the mailbox to the North Pole. There are also painting kits for the kids to paint Christmas ornaments.
Snacks, including hot cocoa and marshmallows, are for sale. The marshmallows come with a stick for roasting over the fire pit, where families are welcome to lounge and relax. And snow fall takes place every hour.
Families are welcome to roam around the establishment and take pictures at the Christmas-themed installations ornately decorated with holiday backdrops.
Hours:
Open Friday, Saturday, & Sunday nights 5–10pm all through December.
General admission; no time slots or reservations are required.
About JunkGuys and Junkyard Christmas
JunkGuys, in its commitment to sustainability and repurposing, has ingeniously integrated recycled materials from its daily junk removal operations into the captivating installations of "Junkyard Christmas." Metal donation boxes, initially removed due to illegal placement, now stand as walk-in installations, showcasing the transformation of discarded items into festive wonders.
Santa's home and furniture, crafted from reused materials collected during routine removals, embody the essence of repurposing. Even Candy Cane Lane, constructed from recycled Styrofoam walls once discarded, has found new life as a vibrant holiday display. The fridges outlining the market structure are a testament to innovation, as each one was salvaged from previous junk removals, contributing to the foundation of the entire Junkyard Christmas experience. JunkGuys not only removes unwanted items but breathes new life into them, turning everyday refuse into the magic that defines the holiday season. Check out their Facebook page for more details.
