River Legacy Living Science Center has a variety of weeklong summer classes in June & July that are sure to beat those summertime boredom blues (and your students may even learn something too!) Age-appropriate classes for preschoolers to elementary students explore wildlife, science, ecology and the environment.
Outdoor Adventure Camps for grades K-6 provide tons of outdoor fun all in the setting of the best classroom on Earth – NATURE!
An Extreme Outdoor Adventure Camp for grades 7th & 8th will have your students kayaking, hiking, rock climbing and exploring the woodlands surrounding the Nature Center.
As an added bonus, many of our camps even meet a variety of badge requirements for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. You can find the Badge Connections on our Web site to see how they can help your child’s scouting goals.
An extra hour of fun, games and a snack is available this year for students needing After-Camp Care. After-Care hours are offered at the close of full-day camps from 3 pm to 4 pm daily each week of class.
Students in our programs discover that an understanding of nature breeds an appreciation for it. Learning the names and characteristics of the plants and animals in River Legacy Park and in their own backyards encourages them to take the time to notice the beauty of the box turtle along the path or the snake slithering across a log. They know that by leaving them undisturbed, they are taking an active role in allowing nature to prosper.
Students in our Summer at the Science Center programs engage in hands-on lessons that go beyond the classroom and into authentic woodlands investigations. River Legacy Living Science Center is growing the next generation of environmental stewards through these fun and exciting nature connections.
