Parker-Chase Preschool

At Parker-Chase Preschool, we pride ourselves in having an inspirational, engaging, fun, and healthy learning environment. We strive to create a responsive environment where learning is an active experience. We want both children and adults to feel supported and free to explore ideas, materials, and feelings. Our colorful rooms with learning centers and lofts (when appropriate) create the ideal atmosphere for children to learn through a combination of self-instructed play and teacher-planned experiences that stimulate physical, intellectual and emotional growth. We have creative indoor and outdoor play areas, designed to develop large motor skills, rich in materials, toys and equipment that inspire young children to flourish. We believe that for children to learn properly, they should be consuming a healthy diet on a regular basis. That is why we have an onsite chef providing nutritious meals served family style for the children.

We make it our goal to provide advanced and balanced academics with an experiential and interactive curriculum. Since 1985, our preschool has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), ensuring the best learning experiences for young children and educators with national standards of quality. Our focus is on developing the “whole child” – physical, language, social/emotional, and cognitive – through planned and spontaneous activities, indoor and outdoor play, interactions with children and adults, and individual and group learning. We boast an exciting curriculum based on experiential learning, which encourages hands-on experiences through various stimulating activities. We aim to instill independence and self-worth in each child by giving them opportunities to move around the classroom at their own pace and select the activities that interest them. Our teachers are trained to ask questions, support problem-solving, and observe progress.
Of course, the staff is the heart and soul of every school. At Parker-Chase Preschool, we are grateful to have a team that is extremely experienced, educated, collaborative, dedicated and connected. Our average teacher tenure is 9 years and our low staff-to-child ratio ensures that each child receives personalized attention. All of our teachers are certified in CPR/ First Aid, Abuse & Neglect/SIDS, Emergency Preparedness Training, Food Handler’s Permit and receive a minimum of 24 continuing education hours per year. Many of our teachers also hold degrees in child development, early childhood education or other related areas. Our staff is committed to building life-long partnerships with families and working together to help each child succeed in an intimate learning environment with ongoing, open communication daily. Teachers and staff are kind, caring and compassionate with a desire to serve the students. Our team encourages family involvement through our Parker-Chase Parent Organization, school and community events, along with Kangarootime, a web-based application used daily to ensure optimum communication.
We have also put a lot of time and effort into ensuring a safe and secure campus for all of our children and employees. Our campus has video monitored entry accessed by key code technology and we perform instant checks on visitors and vendors to ensure a safe environment. We have implemented custom and comprehensive emergency preparedness plans developed by former Secret Service agents. 100% of our staff is trained to deliver the best outcomes in emergency scenarios.
