Dr. Taneja was born in northern India, but came to Texas at the age of 2 months! She grew up in Plano and attended Plano Senior High School. Her journey in medicine has taken her from College Station, where she attended Texas A&M University, to Lubbock, El Paso, Philadelphia, and finally Galveston before heading back to Dallas! She is thrilled to be able to serve the community that looked after her, and was honored to have been named to D Magazine’s Best Doctors and Best Doctors in Collin County for the past 2 years, as well as winning the MOM Approved Pediatric Professional award by DFW Child Magazine for the past 3 years.
Caring for children was instilled in Dr. Nancy Taneja at a young age. From visiting orphanages in India with her mother, to volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, she has always found joy in watching children grow, prosper, and realizing their fullest potential.
Dr. Taneja is confident that choosing general pediatrics was truly her calling in life – she has followed that passion to establish a career in pediatrics for the past 10 years! Building a strong foundation with her patients and families is crucial to her, and she does not take the trust they place in her for granted. One of Dr. Taneja’s favorite aspects of general pediatrics is getting to watch her little babies become young adults and participating in their important life milestones.
She married her high school sweetheart who also happens to be an Aggie! Gig Em! Together, they have 2 amazing kids, an 8-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son. People often ask her how she balances being a mom and a physician and she likes to say that there is not a true balance, but rather a pendulum shifting to what is needed the most in that moment.
Her kiddos definitely keep her busy and have given her a unique perspective in her role as a physician. In her free time when she is not picking up toys, breaking up sibling fights, and picking slime out of her kids’ hair, you will find her riding her Peloton, going for a run, strolling the aisles of Target, or baking. She loves traveling and dreams of all the beautiful places and cultures she can experience. Her favorite season is Fall (bring on all the pumpkin and football), and nothing beats a Sunday evening supporting the Cowboys with her family.
She looks forward to meeting your family and is humbled to get the opportunity to take care of your most precious gift!
